Cancelled demos can’t stop Cathrina Claas-Mühlhäuser

CLAAS Chairwoman takes first pass in the TRION 740

Many equipment manufacturers use the Farm Progress Show to unveil their latest machine offerings, and this year CLAAS was no exception. Both the TRION 740 combine and AXION 900 TT tractor were in the spotlight, having launched in the North American market just two months earlier. For many farmers and media members, this was the first opportunity they had to see the new models in person. Judging from the traffic on the show lot, interest was very high!

Among the tens of thousands of farmers who made it to the first day of the show were several familiar faces including the Chairwoman of CLAAS, Cathrina Claas-Mühlhäuser.

A late planting, cool spring and recent rains kept the moisture levels of the corn intended for the Farm Progress harvesting demos at close to 40% -- well above the levels acceptable at most grain elevators. For that reason, the harvesting demos set to feature the TRION 740 were cancelled due to the poor field conditions. Undeterred, Cathrina Claas-Mühlhäuser took the opportunity after the show had closed to harvest some corn in a TRION 740 combine with Region Product Supervisor, Jeff Gray. The new combine handled the wet ground and high-moisture corn with no problems.
